Faeries are magical beings who live isolated in the wild. They are very small, being only 10-15 centimeters in height. Faeries typically live in very large groups called colonies, or smaller, family-like units, also called clans. Colonies have a very organized society, and each faerie has a job that they inherit from their family.

There are two known variants of faeries: the Common, and Dark faeries.

Common faeries are the most widespread, their skin tone can be of any natural tone found in humans, and the same for their hair. They have iridescent insect like wings. Some common faeries are capable of using magic, although it is limited to healing magic, and weak elemental spells. Usually, royal faeries are the only ones powerful enough to wield spells. Most colonies make their homes in the forest, inside hollow tree barks and sometimes in underground tunnels.

Dark faeries, also known as Night faeries, are a nocturnal variant of the common faerie. As their name implies, they are used to life in very dark spaces where they can feel safe, such as caves. They normally burrow for most of the day, emerging only at night. Because of this, they are very rare to see. Dark faeries possess night vision, which allows them to navigate during the night. Their skin tones are usually dark, and can be of purple or blue hues as well. Their hair is usually black, silver, blue or purple. Dark faeries also have bioluminescent spots on their wings, and Royal Dark faeries usually have bioluminescent spots lining their backs.
